As a trained metalsmith, I abide by an exacting integrity of materials and craftsmanship. The infrastructure of a piece is finished as thoroughly as the anterior. Those principles extend to the subject matter of the sculptures. I work intuitively with offerings from the natural world. In some cases, the creation of a piece continues over several years, waiting for just the right treasure to be provided by the woodlands of Appalachia.

A similar process guides my aesthetic decision-making. Through faithful observation of my surroundings, from interactions between friends, human or creature, to the subtle colors found in the winter landscape, I cull guidance from the natural world. My creative process is as quiet and deliberate as the sculptures it yields.
